Making Ghosts

Today we made ghosts with glue, gauze, and a balloon. It was a great lesson in sequencing and following step by step directions. We soaked our gauze in glue and water, and then wrapped our balloon. After 24 hours we popped our balloons and our ghosts stood up all by themselves!

3-D Halloween Houses

In the week leading up to our Halloween Celebration we made 3-D Halloween Houses. We certainly got creative! We cut slits in our card stock to make them stand up and pop.

Day of the Dead Crayon Skull

To bring our unit on Hispanic Heritage Month to a close we had a little fun making Day of the Dead Skulls out of crayon shavings. Students used vegetable peelers to shave crayons down. This was a great fine motor activity to strength hands and coordination. We used wax paper and an iron to melt our crayons.
